Bullshit

OK to take the Keen Scent feat ( http://paizo.com/pathfinderRPG/prd/advancedPlayersGuide/advancedFeats.html#keen-scent )? I guess it's an orc feat for wis 13+, but I thought it might be close enough. Scent is pretty good though...if not, maybe I will take Toughness instead.
Debating dex 14 and int 10 and using a favored-class bonus for linguistics to get common, instead of dex 12/int 12.
I didn't pick an archetype because I like uncanny dodge (I think he'll often be surrounded by packs of weak guys). But I don't know if that's the best idea or not.
What do you think about the Fiend Totem line for him ( http://paizo.com/pathfinderRPG/prd/advancedPlayersGuide/coreClasses/barbarian.html#fiend-totem )? Real anubisy.

I am fine with any barbarian rage powers. As Gnolls do not naturally have scent, you would have to take it as a barbarian power not the orcish feat.

According to OGC you get a +2 natural armor bonus.

Enezib: Our characters' connection?

I'm leaning towards a vaguely Moon Knighty background for my guy; a foreign merc who died in the desert fighting native folk, only to be resurrected and transformed into an oracle by one of the nation's old gods.

I thought that if you were going with the crazy desert wandering gnoll idea, especially if he's going to have totemic ties to Anubis (an old god), maybe Enezib found my guy dead and carried him to some half-buried ruined temple to an old god which the gnoll was using as refuge, whereupon he was miraculously brought back to life before Enezib started eating him.

Smith: Appropriate ancient Egyptian god?

Taking the Resurrected campaign trait, an event which also made him an oracle, per above. I'm also taking the "Blackened" curse, which is fire oriented; what are some good fire-based Egyptian deities, or deities known for punishing with fire?

Re: Enezib: Our characters' connection?

I like that. Truly, it's a shitmas miracle.

I don't know what the deal with gnolls in the setting is, but his backstory is that he was a sort of pit-slave/gladiator (maybe in some other not-so-nearby desert town) who escaped and has been (barely) surviving in the desert since.

I'm not married to my campaign trait; I couldn't really find one that I liked. He's not really a "Wati native", but I figure he's been around the area for a while and his craziness may well give him a save vs fear.

He's probably mostly just following Ed's guy around at this point, though looting valuable artifacts and eating rival raiding parties in the tombs is consistent with his goals.

Enezib archetypes

I'm thinking of giving up the uncanny dodge and making him an invulnerable rager. It's more gnoll-like. This is lame, but can you tell me if the campaign is full of flanking rogues such that this would be folly?

As far as I know the 1st module is dungeon crawl.

There is the Eye of Ra. Not a deity per se, but rather the destructive force of Ra. It usually manifests it self as one of many female deities.

The Eye of Ra or Eye of Re is a being in ancient Egyptian mythology that functions as a feminine counterpart to the sun god Ra and a violent force that subdues his enemies. The Eye is an extension of Ra's power, equated with the disk of the sun, but it also behaves as an independent entity, which can be personified by a wide variety of Egyptian goddesses, including Hathor, Sekhmet, Bastet, Wadjet, and Mut. The Eye goddess acts as mother, sibling, consort, and daughter of the sun god. She is his partner in the creative cycle in which he begets the renewed form of himself that is born at dawn. The Eye's violent aspect defends Ra against the agents of disorder that threaten his rule. This dangerous aspect of the Eye goddess is often represented by a lioness or by the uraeus, or cobra, a symbol of protection and royal authority. The Eye of Ra is similar to the Eye of Horus, which belongs to a different god, Horus, but represents many of the same concepts. The disastrous effects when the Eye goddess rampages out of control and the efforts of the gods to return her to a benign state are a prominent motif in Egyptian mythology.

The Eye of Ra was involved in many areas of ancient Egyptian religion, including in the cults of the many goddesses who are equated with it. Its life-giving power was celebrated in temple rituals, and its dangerous aspect was invoked in the protection of the pharaoh, of sacred places, and of ordinary people and their homes.

Another possible God

Sopdu (Soped, Sopedu) was a god of war associated with the eastern borders and the eastern Desert, known as the "lord of the east". He was sometimes associated with the planet Venus, but was generally a solar god, closely associated with the sun, which rises in the east, and represented the scorching heat of the sun. He patrolled the border and protected the turquoise mines in the Sinai. He was also thought to protect the mouth of the deceased. His name was written with the hieroglyph of a thorn and can be translated as "skilled man" or "skilled ones". However, it could also mean "sharp ones". The sign itself was called "the tooth" by the Egyptians giving his name a possible third meaning of "the teeth".

My forum name

So is "the ever living" too much? Just thought it was somewhat apropos given the setting and his life oracle nature; he doesn't actually refer to himself as such.

Re: My forum name

It might be something that Enezib muttered to himself when he saw you resurrected, or something like that. (Like when Max Von Sydow starts spouting religious bullshit under his breath when they see the worm from their ornithopter.)

I'd keep it for at least another two sessions, to tempt fate and/or any other walking coffins that might try to eat us.

The ever living is fine by me. I am working on a few transitional/role playing posts I should have them up by this weekend.
